Okay, I'll try to keep this hypothetical and fair. someone might accuse me of being biased but it's hard not to be.
I post on a certain message board ( no, not this one. ) of people who i thought were my friends for many years. Many years ago on the roninwarriors.com message board i was basically treated like shit by some of the moderators and banned several times. now, at the time i was actually being constantly unbanned by the owner of the website and the board when i told her what was happened. many people agreed with me that i was being treated unfairly because the guy doing this just didn't like me. it was supposed to be a board for fun but for me at least it became about rules. I wasn't allowed to post anything random or make any comments about anyone. if i typed in a manner that wasn't befitting this person's expectations I was being "annoying" and was banned after a single warning. How was this way I was speaking? 1337? bad spelling? full of internet slang? no. not even close. Not capitalizing all of my sentences was the "annoying" way of typing. ( and yeah, I know i've been doing it here. did you really take notice of it until I typed it? ) I couldn't bring up anything that wasn't already mentioned in the topic, you name it. These rules applied only to me. Trust me, I looked. Might sound a bit biased but Apparently several people agreed with me because They joined a message board that I made specifically for freedom of conversation. I even asked for help from many of these people I considered my friends because I'm hopeless when it comes to making websites or message boards. There's no simple rulebook with pretty pictures that says "you should go here and put this here." so I can't do it. But anyway, you've got that with you. for several years we posted pretty much freely on this message board. I tried my best to keep the peace and yet still allow for all the freedom people wished. I'll admit that I was still an immature 16 year old kid back then but I also told people if they had any problems to come to me with them and I'd do my best to help. I tried not to godmode in the battle threads even though it WAS my board and that kind of made me god...so I tried playing fair. There were people banned, but no one from the crew originally recruited from RW.com
Now you have your backstory. last year some of the people from my old board made another message board and I was invited to join. However, it has become dreadfully obvious that there are certain rules that seem to apply only to me. I'm singled out as being the only one mentioned in threads regarding quarreling or fighting, and in one situation there was a post specifically about me. I'm not allowed to post random things, and have to stay on topic. Not such a bad rule, I grant you, but on page 9 of a thread, when the original topic is far gone anyway, it seems weird to me to have to stick completely to the current topic. When I have a conflict with someone it's me who's "the only one causing trouble and it's pissing everyone off." I honestly don't know how else to describe it but this is an exact quote after asking someone for help.
"shini it seems to me that your just mad because you're wrong for once, and you cant be the one thats god-modding.. im not trying to cause an argument but you REALLY need to quit being an not a very nice person, its pissing everyone of"
And this is an exact quote from the topic entitled "shini"
"#1. no one "flipped out".. flipping out would have been just deleting your comments.. or better yet, banning your ass and NOT giving you any warning.
#2. you don't just do your random comments on topics that are dead or almsot dead.. there was one night that Cor & I were posting back and forth on a few topics and you just showed up and started writing random shit in ALMOST EVERY topic
#3. i don't care if you think its a stupid "rule" or not. last time i checked this was MY board on MY website & bandwidth.. and as long as i am the one PAYING for it, what i say goes"
And after that you'd think people wouldn't comment after something like that, right? well guess what, someone did, and I think Heather knows who I'm talking about and why i'm ready to castrate him for doing things like this.
"amen T, amen *hugs*
and with this post...i flood everything else?"
Like I said, I don't know how else to describe it and don't know how unbiased I can be on it, but there it is.
