For those of you who know nothing about Death Note, it was originally a manga which got very popular about a guy who basically finds a notebook belonging to a grim reaper which he can use to kill anyone he wishes to, just by writing their names in it. I have never read the manga, but an anime form has just started to be released which looks very promising. It is not yet licensed, but there is a group fan subbing it, and after seeing the first episode all I can say is OH. MY. GOSH. For info go to these places: The Anime News Network entree about the mangaThe Anime News Network entree about the animeTorrent File Download site of fansubber for animeSo yeah, anyone else watching this, if so, what do you think, and if not, WATCH IT. It's definitely worth the download.

I just started watching this yesterday! Already I'm very impressed. I know several people who read the manga (though I never did) so I was eager to watch the anime once I heard it was coming out. ^^ I can't wait to see more of L. And Light is crazy. L reminds me of Alice a little. As far as looks go, anyway. From what I've gathered, their personalities are nothing alike. ^^; Other than the fact that neither of them really sleeps. XD

Yeah, I've noticed that Scanlators seem to be a lot less reliable than fansubbers, which I find odd, because you'd think that fansubbing would be HARDER to do

nah, less talking in anime, and you don't have to clean up the images. also you have to actually have someone buy and scan the manga, where as an anime you can have people directly download them to their computer through a tv-computer hookup.

Some people are better at video editing than image editing, too. It all depends on where the groups' talents lie.

They must.
I have a friend who apparently thinks I do... she sent me a manga that's all in Japanese. I have no idea what it's about. XD

DN is sweet, or at least the manga is. It finished up a while ago and for once... a manga with a non-dissapointing ending. I was so excited As for the anime... since I already read all of the manga I'm not so much into DLing it... though it would be interesting if they basterdized the manga a lot (like FMA ) link to the complete scantilated manga if you're interested: media.unrivaled.info/index.php?cat=5each "page" is a chapter on that site. FYI
