Lol dude, talk about "bastardizing" a manga. Watch Bleach sometime. Or Full Moon wo Sagashite. Holy COW. FMwS was so different I was completely shocked.
YAY MANGA! I'll definitely check that out.

I refuse to watch the bleach anime. I hate it. The first episode I saw ( download, why would I wait for carton network when i have DSL?) was so different from the manga I just couldn't stand it. The Naruto anime really pisses me off. I think the manga to anime translation is probably 100% the best I've EVER SEEN, WITHOUT A DOUBT. but they couldn't wait a season or two, so they released filler for a year. ALL OF THE FILLER CHARACTERS LOOK ALIKE. they all have the same freaky character designs, weird looking eyes, pastel hair, and it's so horribly written. They don't do the characters justice AT ALL. I don't even know if I can ever go back to downloading the anime. And I believe that watching the american version is a crime. I don't have to and won't explain that.

I think Hikaru no Go is the best manga-to-anime transition, as long as you discount the premature ending.
AND NO WAY! Full Moon wo Sagashite is one of my favorite anime of all TIME. Seriously. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne was great, too. Tanemura Arina is a goddess.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the Bleach anime, even if it is really different from the manga....
BoT, I started reading the Death Note manga today. ^^ I'm in love so far!

I read a chapter or so of Death Note when Jump put out a preview of it, but that's about it. It's sometimes hard to think that the manga-ka is the same person who did Hikaru no Go. Except that the main DN character reminds me of that one Korean guy from the HnG manga. I wish I could remember his name....

I dunno. Raito actually reminds me of Isumi-kun... XD
I think it's really obvious. When I watched the anime, I just kept thinking "this looks so much like HnG... I wonder if it's done by the same artist?" and then I looked at the manga. XD OBATA-SENSEI! I WANT TO GROW UP TO BE AS AWESOME AS YOU!
I was musing the other day over the similarities between the two series', but I'll only go into them if people are actually interested in hearing about my thoughts. XD I don't want to bore you all to death.

lol, I DO watch the Naruto anime. I even slogged through all the fillers the last season. The last two and the... Star village or whatever arcs were alright I guess but the rest was god awful, for reals. But I love Naruto as a series enough to go through it all... ahh and my dedication shall never be rewarded ;_; I thought the US dub was alright for a dub, but I don't even have TV at my apartment (cause I would have to, you know, pay like 25$ a month for it from my own pocket) so it's not like I ever watch it anyway Naruto anime does at least some stuff better than the manga though (see: episode 30 orochimaru vs. sasuke fight) so I do like the watch it. Plus some of the little extra character interactions they throw into the anime are just so adorable. The movies however... are kinda really atrociously bad XD lol, I had no idea DN was done by the same guy as hikago! But now that you mention it... it is really obvious ^^; The guy even has the same annyoing tendancy in both manga to drop characters and plots after a while (man I loved me some Mitani, I even got a cell phone charm of him but after his use as a temporary foil for hikaru is up... poof, bye bye mitani for the rest of the manga ;_;). Kinda like Light's family... once their use is up, they're gooone. I probably liked DN and Hikago the same too... like really obsessed for a while, then slightly turned off after a major plot event or something, then reobsessed till the end. I probably like DN's ending a lot better though, more closure ^^;

The reason I couldn't believe DN and HnG were by the same person is because I was looking at drawings like Ryuk in the same issue as Chibi Hikaru. Once I knew it, it looked obvious. XD (Off-topic shameless plug! Silverdragon, if you like Naruto, do me a lil favor and click the icon of the house in my mini-profile. )

Yeah. I wish I still had access to Hikaru no Go manga... sometimes the girl from Death Note named Misa has like.. the exact same look as Hikaru. But then, she also has a very Akari-esque design. It's weird.

It's not too hard to navigate once you get used to it... but if you have any problems or question, our dear H-chan is a Sannin over there and I'm the Hokage, so don't be afraid to ask. ^^
And lol, reused character designs, perhaps?

I refuse to read Hikaru No Go. It shouldn't be in Shonen Jump. That's all I'm going to say about it and I don't care e_e freakin' manga about checkers....."oh, look at me, i'm the gayest man to ever live. so much so that it even needs to be explained to people that i'm a man at all!" >_>

WHAT is wrong with gay men? ;___; Sai is adorable, even if my gaydar doesn't go off regarding him. XDXD He's just cute! And SD is right. Somehow the manga/anime just makes it seem so hardcore.
I finished reading Death Note last night. I don't ... know if I liked the ending. I dunno. Parts of it were cool. But somehow ... I was a little disappointed. I think the last 40 chapters I was just bitter because Obata killed off my favorite character....
....*mourns at the shrine I made*
