Okay, I'm not putting up the tutorial yet, it's 3 AM when i'm posting this. I'm leaving this here as basically something to force me to put it up, and leaving it up for questions, just like the fiberglass thread.
Let me answer a few questions before they're asked.
**What EXACTLY is this for?:
--well, basically it's for making a cover for a pair of shoes you already have which will form an armor you can attatch permanently or temporarily to your shoes. If you've got a character who wears armor, then this will work. Such as if you were cosplaying a ronin warrior or a Lord Knight, then you'd need armored shoes. and spraypainting a pair of sneakers gray wouldn't exactly do it. This will allow you to create the armor base that you can build on.
**What is this made out of?:
--Well, what do you think? Craft foam, aluminum tape, duct tape. neato, huh?
**Will I be able to walk in these things?:
--Umm...I ...hope so. The armor will be attatched by snaps. The idea is the armor is attatched in 2 or 3 parts to the boot, instead of to the armor, so as you walk, it should be able to flex with you.
**Will these look like armor in the end?:
--Once again, like most of my tutorials, it will require an over coat or two to make sure it's hard or whatnot. If you really can't afford or are afraid of fiberglass, then use hot glue and putty, or something. be careful though, if you're using hot glue, craft foam reacts to heat. so it's gotta be taped down well to make sure it doesn't warp, and don't let it get too hot. but I reccomend fiberglass, as always. I'll show you how, don't worry.
